Terms of use · Effective October 19, 2026
The terms, in plain words.
Draft: these terms are being reviewed and may change before SiteSum launches.
Using SiteSum
SiteSum is a feet-inch-fraction calculator for iPhone. You can use it without an account, and everything you type stays on your phone (see our privacy notice). The keypad, the tape, Conv and Siri are free. Each of the ten builders runs three times free; after that it needs Pro.
SiteSum Pro
- Pro ($24.99) and Pro Family ($34.99, shared with up to five family members through Family Sharing) are one-time purchases. They don’t renew and don’t expire.
- Pro monthly ($4.99 a month) is a subscription. The App Store charges you and renews it each month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions.
- Prices shown here are US prices; the App Store shows yours, in your currency. Apple takes payment, and refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Restore a purchase on a new iPhone from SiteSum’s Settings, signed in with the same Apple Account.
Check before you cut
SiteSum works out answers from the numbers you enter, to the precision you choose, and marks a rounded answer with ≈. Results are a tool for planning and checking, not a substitute for the plans, the manufacturer’s instructions, a qualified professional or your local building code. Stair, baluster and other limits in the app are reference defaults: the inspector has the last word. Measure, check and mark before you cut or order.
The free calculators on this website
The stair and rafter calculators here run the same math as the app, in your browser. The same rule applies: check the results against your plans and local code. They are offered free, as they are, and may change.
Fair use
Don’t misuse SiteSum or this website: don’t try to break or overload them, copy or reverse-engineer the app beyond what the law allows, or use either to break the law. Don’t use the contact form to send spam or anything you have no right to share.
Ownership
SiteSum, its design and its code belong to Matter Development. Your tapes, jobs and exports are yours. The fonts on this website are used under their own open licences.
Liability
We work to keep SiteSum accurate and available, but it is provided as it is, without a promise that it is free of errors. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for wasted material, labour or rework from relying on a result without checking it. Nothing here limits the rights consumer law gives you where you live.
The App Store
Your licence to use the app is also governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Apple is not responsible for SiteSum or for supporting it; we are.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes with every edit, and if a change matters to you, we will say so in the app or on this page before it applies.
