Your numbers stay on your phone.
What stays on your iPhone
Every calculation, tape line, job name, note and export is stored on your iPhone and nowhere else. The Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets and the Siri shortcut read a small copy of your last result from storage shared only with SiteSum’s own extensions. Siri calculations run in SiteSum on your phone; Apple handles the speech itself under its own privacy policy.
Anonymous usage counts
If “Share anonymous usage” is on in Settings (it is by default), SiteSum sends short event counts to PostHog, an analytics service, on servers in the EU. An event says that something happened, never what you calculated:
- the app opened, or a calculation finished;
- a builder ran, and which one (for example, “stairs”);
- the purchase screen opened, a purchase or restore went through, and which product;
- an export was made, and whether it was PDF or CSV;
- the app was opened from a widget, Siri or Control Center, and which;
- crash reports, so we can fix what broke.
No measurement, expression, result, job name or note can be sent: the app only lets through a fixed list of values. There are no profiles, no advertising identifier, no session recording and no tracking across other apps or websites. Turn the switch off and nothing is sent.
Purchases
Apple takes payment through the App Store; SiteSum never sees your card or Apple ID. To confirm what you own, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives your App Store receipt and a random identifier made by the app, not your name or email. Pro bought once keeps working offline.
This website
This site sets no cookies of its own, runs no analytics and loads its fonts from itself. Vercel, which hosts it, keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security. The review placeholders load sample portraits from matterdevelopment.com until real reviews replace them. The stair and rafter calculators run in your browser; what you type into them is never sent anywhere.
The support form
When you send a message from the support page, your name, email address, topic and message go to a small Cloudflare service that emails them to our support inbox. It keeps no copy and no database: the email is the only record, and we use your address only to reply. Your IP address is used, for a minute, to stop more than a couple of messages being sent at once.
The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person is sending it. Turnstile only loads on the support page, and Cloudflare processes signals from your browser to do it, under its own privacy policy.
Your choices
Delete a job or clear a tape and it is gone. Deleting the app deletes everything it stored. To ask about any of this, or to have a support conversation deleted, use the support form or write to support@matterdevelopment.com.
SiteSum is not for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect anything from them. If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
